Christine McGuinness won't let her dad see her children for heartbreaking reason

Model Christine McGuinness has shared the heartbreaking reason why her dad has not yet met her children.

Christine, 36, who shares three children with her ex-husband and former Top Gear host Paddy McGuinness, disclosed that she is waiting to see how her dad's recovery from heroin addiction progresses before introducing him to Penelope, Leo and Felicity.

Christine expressed her pride in her dad's progress and discussed her approach as he continues his recovery journey.

Her comments come amidst speculation about Christine's next career move and rumours of a new romance following the announcement of her divorce from Paddy in 2022.

Speaking to Closer UK, Christine said she was "so proud" of her dad for his progress and shed light on his struggle with heroin addiction. She stated: "He started taking heroin about 40 years ago and didn't understand the dangers and obviously got addicted."

"For me, I've always looked at it as an illness, and for him to get over that and fight..he's done incredibly well."

Regarding the possibility of her dad meeting her children, Christine said: "It's definitely something I want to do."

"I just want to make sure that he does carry on down the right path because I know with addiction I've seen it with my dad where he's started to get a bit better and then he's relapsed, and that could happen again."

In recent conversations, Christine has opened up about the potential new directions her career might take, including a foray into acting after her modelling work.

While at the LGBT Awards, she told the Daily Express: "I'm not an actress, but if I was given the opportunity, why not? ".
