Christian Eriksen provides injury update after return to Manchester United training
Christian Eriksen hopes to be back on the pitch for Manchester United soon after returning to training on Monday.
Eriksen has been out of action since suffering a knee injury during the 1-0 win over Luton Town on November 11. The Danish international has missed seven games in the period since but kicked off this week with his first day in full first-team training.
Following Sunday's hard-fought 0-0 draw at Liverpool, United have almost a full week to prepare for Saturday's home game against West Ham - a rare luxury at this point of the year. It means Eriksen could be available for selection come the weekend and the 31-year-old is itching to get involved.

“Yeah, I hope so,” Eriksen told United's website when asked if he'll be back and available soon. “Like you said, it was the first part in training with the team [on Monday] and it felt good, so it’s going well.
“I think it's always annoying to be on the side, no matter for how long and definitely now. When it takes a little bit longer than you wished for, then obviously it's hard, but no, I was eager to come back as soon as I could.
“[We need] to make sure that everyone is personally fit and ready to go and then the manager obviously will take the decision. The first aim though, is to be back, definitely.”
Eriksen will hope to make the matchday squad for Saturday's Old Trafford clash, joining Bruno Fernandes in being available for selection again. The Portuguese midfielder missed Sunday's draw at Anfield due to suspension after picking up a fifth yellow card in the 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth.
