Chelsea defender Reece James 'makes Man City decision' and other transfer rumours

Chelsea defender Reece James has reportedly decided he would not want to join Manchester City in the future.

Over the course of the weekend, The Independent reported Pep Guardiola had shortlisted James as a long-term replacement for Kyle Walker. The City captain has only recently signed a new contract at the Etihad Stadium but the Blues' boss has been a fan of the full-back for some time.

However, in a new report from 90min, James is claimed to have made a choice on his future. It is understood the 23-year-old, whose sister Lauren also plays for Chelsea, is committed to helping the Blues establish themselves at the top of the Premier League.

James has only recently returned from a muscular injury but captained Chelsea on Sunday as they drew 4-4 with City in a thrilling encounter at Stamford Bridge.

According to The Athletic, City have brought the 15-year-old to the club after agreeing a seven-figure sum with the Elland Road club. It is understood the fee for Gorman is a British record for a player of his age.

The deal itself is not officially complete but it is widely expected it will be done soon. Gorman made his England U16 debut at the age of 14 and he currently holds the record for the youngest player to score in the Premier League U18s at 14 years and 326 days.

Gorman's playing style has been compared to current City youth prospects Oscar Bobb and James McAtee.
