Chelsea: £141.3m trio now 'desperate' to leave Stamford Bridge

Chelsea trio Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner are all “desperate” to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, according to journalist Simon Phillips.

The three players, who cost £141.3m, have all been linked away from the club as the squad revamp continues following Todd Boehly’s takeover.

It’s been a frustrating start to the Boehly-era, with the American only able to sign two players, while Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen have left on free transfers and Romelu Lukaku has returned to Inter Milan on loan.

Chelsea are hoping to complete further business before September’s deadline, with the Blues in talks over deals for Brighton ace Marc Cucurella and Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong after hijacking Manchester United’s deal.

But the capital club also need to offload players ahead of the window closing and Phillips reckons that Ziyech, Werner and Pulisic, who’ve all struggled for consistency since moving to the Premier League, are three that really want to leave.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I’m pretty sure that Tuchel isn’t going to want Ziyech, Werner and Pulisic to leave, but they all want to go. In fact, I was told they’re all desperate to go.

“So, they’ve got a problem there when you’ve got that amount of players in the squad who all want to leave, but Tuchel can’t afford to let them go because you can’t replace them all.

“I can see Werner going, Ziyech is probably 50-50, but Pulisic will probably stay.”

As recently as last month, Italian outfit Calciomercato claimed that reigning Serie A champions AC Milan had reopened talks with Ziyech after their initial negotiations previously broke down.
