Chef Adam Reid to host exclusive four-course dinner - but asks customers with dietary requirements to stay away

Chef Adam Reid has announced he will be hosting an exclusive dining experience at his Manchester restaurant where those with dietary restrictions are asked not to attend.

Adam will be teaming up with Hubert de Billy from luxury Champagne house Pol Roger for the one-off dinner at The French at The Midland Hotel on October 6. The four-course dinner will also cost a pretty penny - with tickets priced at £250 per person.

During the dinner, Adam’s ‘unique Northern cooking’ will be paired with wines and introduced with expertise from de Billy, who is Pol Roger’s great great-grandson and the 5th generation of the family-owned Champagne house based in Épernay.

The prestigious Pol Roger Champagne is said to be a favourite among many British Army Regiments as well as late Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill.

Adam, who joined The French in 2013 as Head Chef before taking over as Chef-Patron in 2016, has been awarded 4 AA rosettes and has also won BBC’s prestigious Great British Menu competition on two occasions. The French has won numerous awards in recent years.

Last month, Adam Reid at The French was nominated for Best Manchester Restaurant at the annual British Restaurant Awards alongside the likes of Mana, WOOD, Kitten and 20 Stories, who eventually claimed the title.

In 1974, The French became the first Manchester city centre restaurant to be awarded a Michelin star. Set on the ground floor of the Grade II-listed Midland Hotel, the restaurant focuses on 'fine dining made local'. A sample menu for the restaurant tempts diners in with the likes of
