Celtic transfer bulletin as Mathias Kvistgaarden suitor list swells, Araujo latest and price 'rises' for signing wildcard

Celtic may need to move fast if they want to land striker target Mathias Kvistgaarden amid reports Schalke have made the first real move to land the striker.

Brendan Rodgers is on the hunt for up-front reinforcements next month and the need for quality, as underlined by skipper Callum McGregor, has been laid bare by a couple of recent defeats that have let Rangers right back into the title race. Kyogo isn't firing as he was under Ange Postecoglou while Hyeongyu Oh doesn't look immediately ready to step up to the plate.

Danish striker Kvistgaarden has long been linked with reports Celtic had a £4.1m bid rejected back in the summer. And it's been widely mooted they could return to the table in January with an improved offer for the 21-year-old who has seven goals and seven assists in 21 games this season with Danish media expecting him to move on to bigger things in the near future.

Another option Celtic have been linked with is Polish striker Szymon Wlodarczyk. The 20-year-old, tipped as 'the next Lewandowski' in his homeland, first emerged as a reported target last January. But since then he has joined Sturm Graz and a free-scoring start to life in Austria has the same report claiming he is now valued at £15m - firmly out of Celtic's winter price range.

It's not just strikers Celtic are looking for in January. Further back, competition for Greg Taylor is thought to be another priority and the standout target there is versatile Portuguese left-sider Tiago Araujo.

The Hoops are believed to be watching him closely but any bid
