Reo Hatate tells Celtic something he'll NEVER do but top asset can see him turn Parkhead dominator

Reo Hatate says he won't be able to keep the ball for 90 minutes - but he's told Celtic one top asset in his locker can see him soar.

The midfielder has been challenged by new boss Brendan Rodgers this term to reach the highest levels he can and the Irishman was glowing in his praise after Saturday's 3-1 Premiership win over Kilmarnock. Hatate has signed a long-term deal to stay in Glasgow for the foreseeable and is now back in Japan for a friendly against Canada, before then taking on Tunisia.

Speaking to Soccer King in relation to his national team role, the 25-year-old admits it's impossible for him to keep hold of the ball for an entire game. But he can be a difference maker in turning defensive situations into attack. He said: "I don't know how it will play out, but there's no way I can hold the ball for 90 minutes. Switching between offence and defence is one of my strengths, so I think the key will be how I can make my presence felt there.

"I don't know if there will be two volunteers, but realistically, I think it's likely to be below the top. However, there are various positions that will be used. Being able to do it is one of my strengths, so I don't know where I'll play. But I hope I can perform as well as I can in the position I play in.''

Hatate has also reflected on his Celtic form at the start of this term. He added: "Since returning, I have gradually been able to play my own game, so I think I have been able to play for longer periods of time. We have to get results.

"I haven't been able to play that many games since coming back from injury, so there are some difficult parts, but compared to the pre-season, things went smoothly I think it's a matter of how I can bring my strengths to the team, so I think
