Celtic news bulletin as Daniel Cummings 'problem' identified and frightening Daizen Maeda gets big licks
Andy Walker has pinpointed the main issue surrounding Daniel Cummings at Celtic.
The youngster - who has been banging in the goals at Youth and B Team level - is wanted by West Ham and the English Premier League outfit watched a couple of bids booted out before the deadline with his contract up in the summer. The Hammers are closing in on a pre-contract, but his lack of top team action at Parkhead is one that has caught former striker Walker by surprise.
He made an unexpected cameo off the bench in the Champions League against Aston Villa for Adam Idah after Kyogo was sold to Rennes and Johnny Kenny unavailable. But in the Premiership he has been non-existent, a similar story last night as the Hoops ran riot by smashing six past Dundee under the lights in Glasgow's east end.
Walker reckons the fact no-one has seen him is the problem and believes if he isn't going to get the chance at Celtic, then why not move on and try make the grade elsewhere. He told Go Radio: "He's the one I thought would have got some game time.
"He's scoring goals regularly in the UEFA Youth League. Unbelievably he came on to make an appearance against Aston Villa out of nowhere. Celtic have had games at Parkhead this season when they are 5-0 up at half-time but we haven't seen any young players coming on.
"So again, if he is someone who doesn't think he is going to get an opportunity then why not go somewhere else and see if you can make the grade. No one has seen him, that is the problem. Unless you are watching the Youth League then no one has seen him play."
Meanwhile, Daizen Maeda continues to grab the headlines as he scored another double. His second goal in particular caught the eye as he perfectly executed a lobbed effort over a helpless
