Celtic fans seize on Borna Barisic 'welcome to Trabzonspor' highlight as cult Rangers incident makes the cut

A video welcoming Borna Barisic to Trabzonspor has been hijacked by Celtic fans who spotted an infamous moment making the cut.

The Turkish Super Lig big-hitters heralded the signing of the Croatia international but Parkhead punters couldn't resist turning up the trolling over one of the clips included by his new club. Punters piled into the replies reminding Rangers supporters of the incident. A quick snap of the Rangers defender apparently being called a 's*******' by then-masked Callum McGregor in the 3-0 win for Celtic in February 2022 – a game which put the Hoops on course to winning the league that year.

Barisic also famously stooped in shock as Liel Abada ghosted in at the back post to score in the Parkhead rout. The rampaging left-back was a vital member of Steven Gerrard's side which went unbeaten to win the Premirrship in the 20/21 season and was a key contributor on their European runs. Barisic made 236 appearances during his six years in Glasgow.
