Casemiro 'offered' to new club and other Manchester United transfer rumours

Paris Saint-Germain have been "offered" to sign Casemiro by the Manchester United player's agent - according to reports - ahead of the transfer market reopening in January.

United signed Casemiro for an initial £60million from Real Madrid last summer and the Brazil powerhouse became an important part of their squad. However, the 31-year-old hasn't quite managed to hit the heights he did for them last season and has also been nursing a hamstring injury for several weeks.

Erik ten Hag and key figures behind the scenes at Old Trafford have made five midfield signings since he was sworn in as manager. Casemiro is the most high-profile of those aquisitions.

Christian Eriksen, Marcel Sabitzer (loan), Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat (loan) are the other additions. But will there be further changes made in that position when clubs get back down to business?

Reports from French publication Le10 Sport indicate Casemiro's agent has tested the waters with PSG regarding a would-be transfer. However, the article does not suggest whether or not the player - or club - would be interested in making that proposed move to Paris happen.

Elsewhere, reports from German journalist Florian Plettenberg suggest Timo Werner is determined to stay with RB Leipzig, despite the 27-year-old being mooted as mooted as a possible target for United when the market reopens. Werner spent two years in the Premier League with Chelsea previously.

The 57-cap Germany international - who has scored 24 goals for his country - is a versatile option who can operate as a striker or on the left flank in attacking quarters.
