Carlos Corberan names first player on Huddersfield Town teamsheet for Nottingham Forest FA Cup tie

The Terriers face Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup Fifth Round on Monday and as the last of the ties to be played both teams already know what awaits the winners – a home tie against Premier League Liverpool.

Town’s in-form goalkeeper Lee Nicholls has been the best in the Championship this season. Born and raised on Merseyside he will be desperate to face the Reds in a potential cup tie having been in the club’s academy as a youngster.

However, he will be pushing Town to the win likely from the touchline as Carlos Corberan has used his backup goalkeeper in each FA Cup game to date. Speaking before the tie Corberan confirmed that continues to be the plan for this game as it’s likely Jamal Blackman will start between the posts.

“I think it’s important every game we come into we have players who are fresh and can help us,” said Town’s head coach, “we will need to analyse which players are in the best condition.

“This is what we are going to do before we play Forest, and we will do the same before we play West Bromwich Albion – see from our group who is going to be the most competitive. If everything goes well Blackman is going to play.”

With just two days rest after Friday’s 3-0 win over Peterborough and a packed couple of weeks ahead there is likely to be some rotation on Monday. Nicholls will be desperate for the eleven to get through and set up his dream clash.

Town are likely to still be without their missing players from Friday's game but such is the strength of the squad this season can still play a very competitive side as they have in both rounds to date.
