Carlos Corberan hailed as 'unbelievable' by Huddersfield Town legend

The Championship promotion race is heading towards the final leg and Huddersfield Town are in a great position.

Written off by many and amongst the favourites for relegation before the start of the season the Terriers have now silenced the doubters. Seventeen games unbeaten in the league and consistently in the top three, they are now a serious contender for another stint in the Premier League.

With a way to go Town legend Michael Hefele feels it’s no coincidence they’re on this charge and knows who is behind it; Carlos Corberan.

Since returning to the club last summer Hefele has been learning a lot about things on and off the pitch, covering ambassadorial duties and helping with coaching. Corberan’s preparation to each match has made a huge impression on the 31-year-old and speaking to Sky Sports he feels Town can go on and keep surprising people right through to the end of the season.

“It’s definitely possible, as I know Carlos always prefers a team at 100%,” said the ex-defender.

"They now can have a strong recovery period and he will come to them now with a strong match plan for Millwall.”

Hefele continued talking about the head coach’s meticulous preparation for each game.

“It’s great to see and it’s great that I have the opportunity to learn from him," Hefele added.

"He prepares in such detail – over one hundred percent. Every player knows what to do, they have a match plan, a lot of teams don’t have a match plan, they don’t know what to do – ‘go out, play football’ – this is not working these days anymore.

“As a team, as a unit, everyone knows what to do and they can see what happens in the game, they can switch their formation.

"This is unbelievable and this is down to the manager and to his backroom staff
