Cardiff City 3-1 TNS: Bluebirds secure another pre-season win thanks to Robinson, McGuinness and Tanner goals

Cardiff City secured their second pre-season win of the Erol Bulut era against TNS thanks to goals from Callum Robinson, Mark McGuinness and Ollie Tanner.

Following the win over Penybont at the weekend, Cardiff started with an early Robinson goal before being pegged back immediately by a Danny Redmond wonderstrike.

But Cardiff looked comfortable enough and McGuinness, who headed home in the first half, and Tanner, whose solo goal made sure of the win, added to their personal goal tallies following their strikes against Penybont on the weekend.

The Bluebirds started in confident fashion, passing the ball to team-mates in a new-look shape which saw wing-backs Joel Bagan and Perry Ng invert into midfield to pack the middle of the park.

And it was through a Bagan bursting run that Cardiff got the breakthrough. The left-back took the ball and drove towards the TNS box before slotting a pinpoint ball through to Robinson, who calmly slotted past Connor Roberts in the visitors' goal.

But then TNS, in emphatic fashion, hit back straight away. Danny Redmond found the ball 25 yards from goal and had sights only on the back of the Bluebirds' net. Ryan Wintle sprinted out to try to close him down, but he couldn't get there and Redmond pulled the trigger. Jak Alnwick, in the City goal, flung himself to his left but it was no good and the net bulged.

The score was not level for long, though, as Cardiff scored their third headed goal of the pre-season campaign. Sheyi Ojo put in a lovely cross and McGuinness, who was on the scoresheet against Penybont on Saturday, rose highest and sent a bullet header into the back of the TNS goal.

The second half, which saw City have a new-look XI, started sluggishly for both sides. A spritely run down
