Canelo Alvarez vs Dmitry Bivol fight purse and PPV share confirmed

This weekend will see the return of Mexican Canelo Alvarez to the world of boxing, as he looks to win his 17th world title against the undefeated Dmitry Bivol at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The 31-year-old has not stepped in between the ropes since his TKO victory over Caleb Plant back in November last year, in which he retained the WBA (Super), WBC, WBO, and The Ring super middleweight titles, whilst also winning the IBF super middleweight title.

And Canelo will be looking to add the WBA belt to his collection against the Russian, a belt that Bivol has held since November 2017 after retaining the title in first round KO against Trent Broadhurst. Most recently, he retained the belt by beating Umar Salamov last December, setting up a clash with Canelo in Las Vegas.

Canelo currently holds a contract deal with DAZN streaming service which made him highest paid boxer and athlete in the world. He earn guaranteed purse of $15m (£12.1m) for the upcoming fight with Dmitry Bivol. He made $35m (£28.2m) from his fights against Caleb Plant, Billy Joe Saunders and Callum Smith. The purse bid for the upcoming fight confirmed he will enjoy share of 70% from the PPV sales, with his opponent getting paid a maximum of 30%.
