Cam Scott provides encouraging injury update as he edges towards Hull FC return

Hull FC outside back Cam Scott has revealed he is nearing a return after missing the last two months of Super League action. Scott was last seen limping out of convincing win over Salford Red Devils in February, a game he scored two tries in before picking up an ankle injury.

It was later confirmed the 22-year-old had suffered a syndesmosis injury and he would be set for a lengthy period on the sidelines. However he took to Instagram on Tuesday evening to confirm he had been given the green light to lace up his boots and step out on the grass at the club’s training ground for the first time since the injury.

As such, it seems a return to action is in sight for the centre, who will be keen to make an impact on his return.

“Tough job being stuck on the sidelines but the boots were finally back on today,” he wrote. “Back soon.”

Brett Hodgson will be delighted to see Scott working his way back to full fitness, especially having seen Josh Griffin and Adam Swift pick up injuries over the last week. The pair aren’t expected to be out long-term, but his return would certainly give the head coach options.

Scott Taylor is another player eyeing a return sooner rather than later after suffering a stress fracture in his foot during pre-season. He had next week’s home game with Toulouse Olympique earmarked as his comeback game but there is a small chance he could return before then.
