The Super League recruitment window is now open and across the competition clubs will be turning their attentions to signings and re-signings. Recruitment is a year-round process and clubs will now be approaching the off-contract players they have identified as potential targets.

Here, Hull Live look at the recruitment situation at FC and break down what we can expect to see from the Black and Whites over the coming weeks and months.

The Black and Whites recognised the need for change last year after a miserable end to the campaign. Big name players such as Mahe Fonua and Marc Sneyd were allowed to leave before the end of their respective contracts and new faces were brought in to freshen up Hodgson’s side and give it a fresh feel as they approached a crucial campaign.

So far, those alterations have helped to steady to ship and with FC sitting fourth in the Super League table, it seems they are on the right track at present. As such, with young players blossoming into first-team regulars and most key men meeting expectations, it seems there isn’t a need to make wholesale changes once again.

Players will leave, but recruitment can be considered and focused on just two or three key areas within the team.

There are currently 10 players within the FC ranks off-contract at the end of the year: Josh Bowden, Jordan Johnstone, Cameron Scott, Danny Houghton, Josh Reynolds, Connor Wynne, Joe Lovodua, Manu Ma'u, Mitieli Vulikijapani and Luke Gale.
