Calvin Bassey price 'named' as Rangers transfer windfall estimated by Ajax despite fading Premier League interest

Ajax are claimed to have slapped a price on Calvin Bassey as Rangers look on with sell-on clause interest.

The Nigerian international was sold to the Eredivisie side last summer for a club-record fee but Premier League outfit are rumoured to be seeking a summer move. Bassey endured a tough first season in Holland and was met with plenty of criticism but according to De Telegraaf, the Seagulls are not one of the interested parties in the versatile star's services.

There is other 'interest' in the defender but it is claimed by journalist Mike Verweij that Ajax want to keep him around for another season. However, if a pricetag of around €23million was met, then 'people will really think about it very seriously.' But this is not the case at the present moment as he gears up for a second campaign in red, with pre-season now underway in Amsterdam.

Rangers are ready for glory as they take aim at Scottish football’s biggest prizes.

Michael Beale and his new-look Light Blues have their heart set on winning back the title and a shot at glory in the Champions League. Beale’s boys will be rubbing shoulders with the best in Europe and chasing the dream in Scotland as they try to win domestic honours. And the Daily Record have produced a stunning new souvenir guide to Rangers.

This unmissable guide is bursting with info for the campaign to come including exclusive columns from Barry Ferguson and Keith Jackson, fabulous features on super skipper James Tavernier, fan favourite Todd Cantwell and boss Beale.
