Callum Robinson has already made his feelings clear amid Preston North End links

Callum Robinson has been linked with a return to Preston North End on loan from West Bromwich Albion.

The forward is out of favour at The Hawthorns and Steve Bruce is reportedly willing to let him leave this summer. Despite scoring seven goals and assisting nine for Albion last season, Robinson seemingly finds himself down the pecking order at the Midlands club.

North End are said to be weighing up a loan move for the former Deepdale fan favourite, with manager Ryan Lowe keen to bolster his front line in the form of two additions this transfer window. Robinson had three separate spells at North End in the past and earned an £8million move to Sheffield United in the summer of 2019.

While the management has changed - Simon Grayson having brought Robinson through and Alex Neil then taking his game to the next level - it is still a club he knows very well. Robinson's feelings towards PNE remain very strong, as shown by his interview with North End midway through last season.

"When I went back to Deepdale at the start of this season, it was the first time and it was a bit crazy to be fair," Robinson told the Weekend Warm Up. "I realised, obviously with the two loans I'd had, then signing and playing for three years, I was there for quite a bit and I do miss it.

"Obviously I loved playing for Preston North End. I have said it in previous interviews; they took me on at a young age and you see a lot of young players now, where it's hard for them to get game time. But, back then with Simon Grayson and Peter Ridsdale, they gave me my chance to learn my trade and it's helped me with my career. So yeah, I have always got a soft touch for Preston North End, definitely."
