Bruno Fernandes sends message to Donny van de Beek after Manchester United goalscoring return vs Lyon
Bruno Fernandes was 'really happy' to see Donny van de Beek back on the pitch after he scored the deciding goal in Manchester United's 1-0 win over Lyon in Edinburgh.
Van de Beek suffered a serious knee injury during the 3-0 win against Bournemouth in January, which ruled him out for the rest of the season. The Dutchman made just two league starts for United in a frustrating campaign.
Erik ten Hag left his midfielder back at Carrington for last week's 2-0 win over Leeds United in Oslo as he continued an individual rehabilitation programme, but the 26-year-old was ready to return at Murrayfield.

He was introduced after half-time as Ten Hag made wholesale changes, and took just four minutes to open the scoring with a brilliantly controlled finish, getting on the end of Dan Gore's cross before placing a volley into the far corner. The former Ajax star's celebration was of pure relief, and teammate Fernandes was equally happy to see his return.
The Portuguese midfielder reposted the video of Van de Beek's goal with the message: "@donnyvdbeek really happy to see you back on the pitch and straight with an amazing goal".
Van de Beek's future at United remains uncertain, with multiple reports linking him with a move away from Old Trafford following an underwhelming three years at the club. And speaking after the win in Scotland, he admitted he is unsure where he could be come September.
