Pundits give verdicts on Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag - and one potential replacement

Manchester United are back in Premier League action on Sunday and face a tough trip to Anfield to face Liverpool.

United were dumped out of the Champions League on Tuesday after losing 1-0 at home to Bayern Munich. Erik ten Hag's side finished bottom of Group A, meaning they haven't dropped into the Europa League and will not play European football in the new year.

Ten Hag's misery was compounded by injuries to both Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw, who are both doubts for Sunday's trip to Anfield and a return to where they lost 7-0 last season. Bruno Fernandes will certainly be absent, having picked up a fifth yellow card last weekend.

The Reds boss is under increasing pressure, with reports suggesting Sir Jim Ratcliffe could make the call to replace him, and that has sparked plenty of chat among pundits covering United.
