Brendan Rodgers puts another Celtic Treble in crosshairs as boss reveals major injury boost ahead of opener

Brendan Rodgers knows all too well about winning Trebles at Celtic, but the new boss wants to turn his two in to three.

The Irishman will take centre stage once again at Parkhead on Saturday when his champions take on Ross County in the league curtain raiser. He joins a Hoops side fresh off the back of scooping all three prizes last season under Ange Postecoglou, a feat the 50-year-old managed twice in his first spell in Glasgow, including going unbeaten domestically for a full campaign. Rodgers reckons the template is there to do so again, but that there are certain 'pitfalls' to watch out for.

The former Leicester City boss believes it was a huge motivator for him to complete his 'unfinished business' and that there has been chat in his camp during pre-season about the expectations of the season ahead. Rodgers admits he can look back on his clean sweep of trophies the first time around but that a new campaign comes with new challenges.

He said: "The mentality is rather to defend it, we want to win it. That is what is key, we start everything afresh. It was a great achievement last year but everyone starts with no points. That's the excitement for me of coming back. I always felt I had unfinished business here when I left and went away, but being back, so happy to be here and happy to take on the expectation and pressure that comes with managing Celtic.

It's something we've spoken about over the course of pre-season. For a club like Celtic it's always about winning, but in the best way you can. That will be the idea this season
