Philippe Clement changes at Rangers that halted 'crumbling' against Celtic named after Beale era overhaul

Alan Stubbs reckons Rangers before Philippe Clement would have CRUMBLED against Celtic.

Brendan Rodgers' side went in at the interval two goals to the good and had a number of other big chances to extend their lead but found Jack Butland in their way with the Ibrox No1 pulling off some impressive stops in front of watching England boss Gareth Southgate - as exclusively revealed by Record Sport.

Michael Beale was in charge before Clement's arrival but the same group of players were not hitting the same heights as they are under the current regime. They had suffered a poor start to the campaign and former Celtic defender Stubbs reckons they would have went down by three or four goals in the past. He believes Clement's side have a bit about them and they are a very different to the team to the one that kicked off the league season under Michael Beale.

Fellow pundit Kenny Miller agreed and reckons what Rangers punters are seeing now is a true representation of their boss. Analysing the derby aftermath on the Scottish Football Podcast, Stubbs said: "It could have easily been 4-1 at half-time and no one could have blinked an eye in terms of that scoreline. We've spoken about it before, I think this Rangers team is different.

"They've got a little bit about them. The manager has a steeliness that has fed through the team. The mindset of the players is very different now. Before this manager came in, I think Rangers would have crumbled. They would have lost that game three or four nil."

Miller added: "It is easy to go under in these situations. I have seen Rangers losing a three or a four over the last few seasons in this game and within those game it could have been more. What Clement has instilled in this team is a true
