Brendan Rodgers in loaded 'Rangers are coming' taunt as Celtic boss runs the numbers on vanquished dugout rivals

Jubilant Brendan Rodgers has taken a cheeky swipe as Rangers as he claimed at least FIVE times the Ibrox side have been "coming" under news bosses in his two Celtic tenures.

And he noted that he had seen off each one of them as the Scottish Premiership leaders moved eight points clear, albeit having played two games more than their rivals, while ending Philippe Clement's unbeaten run since stepping into the Ibrox hots seat. Goals from Paulo Bernardo and Kyogo got the home side on their way before Leon Balogun saw red for a pull on Daizen Maeda in the second half. James Tavernier netted a late free-kick but it was not enough to stop Celtic claiming three points for their second derby win of the season - the last when Michael Beale was in the blue corner with the Londoner sacked shortly after.

Rodgers has achieved veteran status in this rivalry having managed 15 games against Rangers, winning 12 and losing just once, including today's triumph at Celtic Park. And while hype was surrounding the Belgian's revitalised Rangers, Rodgers stated he had heard all the same noise before.

Speaking post-match at Parkhead, he said: "Over my two spells here I have worked against five Rangers managers and every time Rangers were coming, every time, at some point. So for me, it is normal. Like I said the other day if I listened to media and press then we would be in constant crisis mode or constant fear of Rangers.
