BREAKING: Major emergency response in Manchester city centre amid 'police incident' - latest updates
There is a major emergency service response in Manchester city centre tonight as police respond to an ongoing incident.
Eye witnesses have described seeing a number of emergency vehicles near to the river on Trinity Way. The nature of the incident has not been confirmed.
Pictures from the scene show a number of fire crews parked up near to the River Irwell on the Manchester and Salford border.

Locals have described seeing four police cars and four fire engines parked at the scene. No road closures appear to be in place currently.
Greater Manchester Police and Greater Manchester Fire service have been approached for comment.
