LIVE: Pro-Palestine demonstrators march in Manchester city centre as protesters appear to scale Cathedral

Pro-Palestine protesters are taking part in a demonstration in Manchester city centre for the sixth weekend in a row.

'Hands off Gaza' demonstrators are meeting at Whitworth Park on Oxford Road this afternoon (November 18). It comes amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

It is believed more than 100 pro-Palestinian protests are taking place across the UK this weekend, with events also scheduled to take place in Liverpool, London and Birmingham.

Ben Jamal, the director of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, said earlier this week this weekend's rallies are being held to support a ceasefire.

A number of protests have been held across Manchester since the conflict began, including an event at St Peter's Square at the start of the month which saw thousands of demonstrators hold flags and banners as they marched onto Deansgate and Market Street.
