Nedim Bajrami to Rangers transfer is ON and fee for Sassuolo star revealed

Nedim Bajrami is on his way to Rangers as the club prepare to announce their second deadline day signing.

The Albanian international is set to complete a deadline-busting switch to Ibrox from Sassuolo following their relegation to Serie B. A deal has been agreed and Bajrami will be a Rangers player on a permanent deal before the window closes. Gers will pay the Italian outfit €4million (£3.4m) to sign the 25-year-old midfielder.

Sassuolo had been keen to hold on to Bajrami, but the player made it clear he was keen on linking up with Philippe Clement in Govan, who can offer him a taste of European football, with Rangers preparing for glamour Europa League nights against Manchester Utd and Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford and Ibrox respectively.

Now Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali has confirmed he expects a deal to be concluded before the window shuts. He told Sky Italia: “It’s being finalised but still not done. We are working on it. I think we’ll reach an agreement soon."

Bajrami will become Clement's second signing of the day after the capture of Neraysho Kasanwirjo. The defender has joined on a season-long loan from Dutch giants Feyenoord with an option to buy. The move for Bajrami will be partly funded by Todd Cantwell's departure. The midfielder is in the final stages of completing a move to Blackburn Rovers, having slapped a transfer request on Philippe Clement's desk earlier this summer, which saw hm banished to train with the B team.

Fees from the sale of Scott Wright to Birmingham City. It;s thoguht both deals will be worth £800,000 in total. Clement has long warned he needs players out of the door before he can bring more new ones in and that finally looks to be happening as we tick
