Bojan Miovski transfer race heats up as Southampton and Genoa 'prepare' bids for Aberdeen talisman

Aberdeen are reportedly bracing themselves for bids from both Genoa and Southampton for talisman striker Bojan Miovski.

The 24-year-old is in demand after netting 26 goals in all competitions for the Reds last season, with several clubs from around Europe keeping tabs on the North Macedonia international. Bologna have be credited with an interest in Miovski ahead of their first campaign in the Champions League for 60 years while La Liga side Espanyol reportedly had a £3million bid knocked back by the Dons last week.

And now according to the Daily Mail, Serie A team Genoa and newly promoted English Premier League side Southampton are preparing offers for the forward, adding that Aberdeen value their star man at around £6.5million. Despite the speculation surrounding his future at Pittodrie, Miovski played the full 90 minutes as Jimmy Thelin's men got off to a winning start with a 2-1 victory away to St Johnstone on Monday night.

After the game, Swedish boss Thelin praised the 24-year-old for his display in Perth and insists that the player is fully committed to helping out his team while he remains an Aberdeen player. Thelin said: "He has been ready all the time but we have tried to prepare the whole team.

"Ester (Sokler) and Peter (Ambrose) have done well but I know what Bojan can do. He has been sharp in training and really focused and there is a lot of positive energy in the pitch and the locker room.

"He showed he is here and wants to do well at Aberdeen. He has been fighting in training giving it 100 per cent and you can see he is a really good player. Right now he is an Aberdeen player and we focus on that in training day by day."
