Abdallah Sima breaks silence on Rangers exit as transfer return endgame followed by 'difficult' goodbye

Winger Abdallah Sima has bid an emotional farewell to Rangers after sealing a switch to Stade Brest.

The 23-year-old caught the eye of the Ibrox support and Philippe Clement last season despite an injury-hampered spell in the Scottish Premiership. He returned to the Seagulls in search of a second chance in the English Premier League this summer - but quickly dropped out of the picture before the start of the campaign under new boss Fabian Hurzeler.

The wide man was involved in the club’s tour of Japan as the German weighed up his options on the flanks but with 12 months left on his contract Sima has been shipped out of the AMEX Stadium once again - with the Ligue 1 side snapping up the Senegal international on loan for the campaign. However, some Rangers' fans had been hoping to see Sima back in light blue this season rather than plying his trade in France.

But with his future now decided, Sima took to social media to address supporters. Posting to Instagram, the wide man said: "The time has come for me to say goodbye to a club for which I have a lot of affection, for which I took immense pleasure in playing for this club

"It is very difficult to find the words but I would like to thank all the club staff, the staff, my teammates, and especially you, the supporters, who have always been there for me and for the club. It's you who makes this club so special!

"Thank you also to Michael Beale for giving me the chance to play for this great club, and thank you to Philippe Clement for allowing me to realise my dream of winning a title (League Cup) with this magnificent club. Come on Rangers."
