Bojan Miovski targeted for Aberdeen contract extension as Barry Robson stays coy over January interest
Barry Robson is hoping Aberdeen can extend starman Bojan Miovski’s contract.
The North Macedonian international, who will lead the line against Rangers, is the Dons’ top scorer with an impressive 10 goals. Miovski has a deal until the summer of 2026 but the Dons would be keen to extend that agreement. Robson admitted: “Of course you would. We would love to. Listen, he’s still got a long contract here, Bojan. I think we try to keep on top of everyone’s contracts and that’s something that will be done privately if it is. We try and keep everything in line with what’s best for everyone.”
Robson admitted it is an uncertain time with the January transfer window. The Aberdeen boss, when asked if he expected interest in Miovski, answered: “I’m not sure. I think we’ve got a lot of good players. Whether or not there will be interest, that’s something you will have to ask somebody else. I don’t know who is watching our players.”
Robson has praised the work that Miovski has put in and believes he has improved significantly as a player. He stated: “He’s a brilliant boy, done so well, we’ve worked so hard on him as a player and I think we can all see that.
“We’ve really worked on trying to give him that extra speed, make him more forward runs, and the hard bit to coach someone like that is the goals, that’s his talent.
“The thing we have done is we have tried to help him get more goals and I think you can see that. I think he’s got an extra yard, I think you can see that with more runs, diagonal, forward runs, quicker runs, he wants to press the ball more, and as I’ve said to him as a striker, that’s what you need to do. He has taken every tactical bit on board and he’s done really well.”
