Martin Boyle is Hibs 'crazy' man as Elie Youan hypes up fearsome double act that scares every team

Elie Youan reckons Martin Boyle is the craziest person he’s ever met, but it’s the Hibs duo’s rapid pace which the winger insists drives opposition defences mad.

Boyle’s 100 mph persona on and off the pitch makes him one of the biggest characters in the Easter Road dressing room. And when it comes to leading by example Youan insists there’s nobody better to learn from in Nick Montgomery’s side. The Australia international paid tribute to the Frenchman earlier this season saying he’s one of the few team mates he’s had in his career who can keep up with him. And Youan reckons that pace frightens Premiership opponents to death.

Youan said: “Martin’s probably the craziest person I’ve met in my life. It’s good to work with him. He is unpredictable, sometimes he can go in the changing room and is screaming, you never know what he is thinking in his mind. He is crazy, he is funny.

“He is fast, quick like me and since the first game we’ve played together there is a natural connection. I enjoy a lot to play with him, to give him assists. It’s good for the team of course.

“Who is faster? Me of course. It’s me, of course. He knows, if you ask him he will tell you. But he is older than me and it’s always good to learn from players who are older than yourself. As well he is legend here so I'm learning from him some sides of the game. He has more games than me as a professional player and he can play in a lot of positions so I can learn good things from him.

“I think there will not be too many teams like us. In football it’s good to have pace, a good strength for us and when we play against the other teams in the league, even when we play against Celtic or Rangers, I think they are scared of this.
