Bojan Miovski in emotional Aberdeen FC ‘farewell’ as star man shares Pittodrie moment before transfer

Bojan Miovski has appeared to have bid an emotional farewell to the Aberdeen support as he heads for the Pittodrie exit door.

Boss Jimmy Thelin opted to start him on the bench against St Mirren this afternoon and with the scoreline at 3-1, the new boss put on the fans' favourite in added-time as he took in the applause of the home support in what looked to be a final goodbye appearance for the hitman. Following the full-time whistle, he had a moment with the fans and looked emotional as he made his way around the ground applauding back as he was serenaded by the vocal home support.

As he replaced Ester Sokler, Willie Miller told BBC Sportsound: "I think we know who the ovation is for and it is Miovski. This is looking very much like a goodbye swansong for him isn't it? There is no reason to bring him on. What have we got left? A couple of minutes left in the game as well. The first home game of the season and it kind of has the looks of he is off-ski."

Stephen Craigan added at full-time: "Pictures are coming up of Bojan Miovski going over to the Aberdeen fans in the Red Shed. He is kissing his jersey, waving and he is on his own. This seems to be the moment. This looks like his Aberdeen career could be over as he goes back over to the group now."

As things stand, a deal is yet to be agreed with Champions League bound Girona with Record Sport revealing they have bid more than £4million - but they will need to up the ante.

The Dons are seeking a larger transfer fee and a number of add-ons and sell-ons with discussions on-going. Several other European clubs have also come into the equation over the past 24 hours but the striker himself has stated a move to the La Liga outfit remains his preference this summer.
