'Bitter' Ally McCoist hammered on the Hotline as Rangers legend told he’s only right about one thing

Ally McCoist is getting hammered on the Hotline after his scathing assessment of officials.

The Rangers icon slaughtered ref Nick Walsh and called his decision to chalk off Abdallah Sima’s goal in the Scottish Cup Final "scandalous". McCoist also used words such as ridiculous and embarrassing when discussing the work of refereeing standards in Scotland. But Hotline punters hit back as James Logan, Glasgow, said: “I see McCoist is the latest ex-Rangers player to moan about their disallowed goal. Frankly, it’s pathetic.

“You lost fair and square, get over it. Just about every referee and commentator on the game says the decision was correct. If the Ben Davies handball had happened at the other end, every Rangers fan would have claimed it was a penalty. Hypocrisy at its worst.” Peter Lyons, Blantyre, added: “Ally’s true colours shine through. Moaning about the disallowed goal. Talking about Greg Taylor, Nicolas Raskin coming together.

"I say to him go watch it again. The ball is not in play whilst this is going on. James Tavernier has not crossed the ball. Hence no penalty. Stop being so bitter and accept Celtic will be the top dogs for years to come. And Brendan Rodgers is here for a while yet, Ally.”

James Brown, Glasgow, said: “So McCoist thinks the officials were scandalous in Saturday’s Cup Final? For once he is absolutely correct as Celtic were denied two clear penalties. One with Davies handball and Leon Balogun kicking Kyogo’s leg away. Celtic’s winning goal was a superb passing movement, so McCoist and others should dry their eyes.”
