Billy Gilmour sparks Scotland injury sweat with knee brace snap as he offers Brighton teammates Liverpool support

Billy Gilmour has offered an injury update as he shared an image of his leg in a knee brace.

The Brighton star picked up the knock while on Scotland international duty with Steve Clarke and co as the national team fell to a big defeat away to the Netherlands before Northern Ireland dumped the Dark Blues at Hampden just days later. The midfielder started the clash in Mount Florida but was replaced with 70 minutes on the clock by Kenny McLean.

In the build-up to the English Premier League trip to Anfield to face Liverpool, club boss Roberto De Zerbi confirmed he would miss out. He told the media: "Billy Gilmour can't play because he suffered a knee injury with his national team." The former Rangers and Chelsea kid has since given fans a glimpse into his recovery by sharing a picture of him watching Sky Sports' coverage with the caption "Good luck team" alongside a blue and white love heart emoji.

The Argus reports that Gilmour will be ruled out of action for at least one month in a big blow to the Seagulls. He's been a key figure in their midfield this campaign with 36 appearances in all competitions including the Europa League.
