Bernardo Silva: Man City man refused to give Liverpool guard of honour in 2020
Bernardo Silva was at the centre of the controversy during Liverpool’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City on Sunday.
It was the Portuguese’s clash with Mohamed Salah in the closing stages that led to Jurgen Klopp being sent off from the touchline.
Silva hauled down Salah in front of the assistant referee but, remarkably, a free kick wasn’t given.

Liverpool's manager was dismissed for shouting in the face of the assistant referee as Silva and Salah continued their clash by squaring up.
Footage has even emerged that has led to Liverpool supporters accusing Bernardo of 'kicking and elbowing' Salah after the ball had gone.
He wasn't done there, though.
After the match, Silva gave a particularly salty interview as he called for 'consistency' from the officials.
“What we expect from the referees is consistency in their decisions,” he told Sky Sports.
“When you go through a path of not whistling little contacts throughout the whole game, you need to keep those decisions and keep going that way.
“If you want to whistle all of them, whistle all of them.
“But if from the beginning of the game you’re not whistling little fouls – and we saw in this game that he was letting us play, which is good, which is fine – then if there is a goal you cannot whistle a soft one.
“If you want consistency from a referee, you cannot change [approach] just because there is a goal and just because it’s a tough decision.
“You have to make the tough decision and keep the goal, in my opinion.”
Of course, Silva and Liverpool have a bit of history.
