Beloved son found dead two days after telling friend he's only taken 'the usual'
A much-loved son was found dead at his home after telling his friend he'd taken 'the usual'.
Ryan McShane appeared 'under the influence' to his friend Michael Gibbs after they both spent the evening together on March 17. However, his concerns grew and he asked Ryan what he had taken, with him replying "only the usual".
The 24-year-old, who worked as a patient services assistant at Royal Blackburn Hospital, left just after midnight with his body being discovered two days later. His mum Donna had been unable to get hold of him on the phone so she and others went to his home on Union Road, Oswaldtwistle, and forced entry to his flat, Lancs Live reports.

A post-mortem toxicology rest revealed that while Ryan had both heroin and diazepam in his system, at the time of his death neither were, in isolation, at levels which would normally result in a fatality. Despite this, when taken together, the toxic effects of the drugs are enhanced due to the depressant effect on the central nervous system.
