BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Katya Jones praised for tribute to 'inspirational' co-star

Strictly Come Dancing star Katya Jones has been flooded with praise as she paid a sweet tribute to her 'inspirational' co-. The dancer is currently busy preparing for her next stint in the ballroom alongside celebrity dance partner Nigel Harman. ASDA

But the dancing pair won't be performing on the usual dancefloor in the Elstree-based studios as this Saturday (November 18) the cast and crew of the BBC One dance contest are heading for their annual trip to Blackpool where week nine of the competition will take place in the iconic Tower Ballroom.

Katya, however, took time out of the planning for the trip and her and Nigel's next performance by sharing a special birthday message to Strictly's former professional dancer and now It Takes Two host Janette Manrara as she turned 40.

Sharing a string of pictures of the pair on Instagram taken over the years, Katya said: "Let’s celebrate this incredible woman! It’s only been a few years of our friendship, but I am so blessed that you let me be part of your life to share so many beautiful moments with you.

"From the moment I joined Strictly you took me under the wing. We cheered each other on every year. Watching you walking down the aisle (twice), feeling so welcomed by your entire family. Seeing you graft and work so hard towards your dreams has always been inspirational. I remember the moment you revealed to me that you’ll be the host of #ItTakesTwo ! It was so special and I couldn’t be more proud and happy for you."
