BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Layton Williams sends simple message as he's congratulated over delayed show win

Layton Williams has been seen cosying up to a Glitterball trophy after a delayed Strictly Come Dancing win. The actor and West End star missed out on lifting the coveted shiny trophy back in December when he made it to the final of the competition with professional dancer Nikita Kuzmin.

The pair faced Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola and Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell in the spectacular final of the BBC One dance show on December 16. After three dances each, it was Layton and Nikita who emerged top of the leaderboard with a string of perfect scores from the judges.

However, it wasn't meant to be as following the public vote, which the final results was based on, it was former Coronation Street star Ellie who emerged victorious alongside professional pro Vito. And the win made history as at the age of 22, Ellie became the youngest-ever winner of Strictly.

But despite not winning the competition, Layton and Nikita have been making up for it on the show's live tour which saw them reunite with a number of their Strictly 2023 co-stars including Ellie, Vito, Bobby and Dianne as well as Angela Rippon, Angela Scanlon, Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Annabel Croft and the show's team of talented dancers.

After three weeks of performing in nine different cities up and down the country, the string of live shows came to an end on Sunday night (February 11) at London's O2 Arena and backstage, with Layton and Nikita getting their 19th win of the tour which sees audience members vote for their winners during each show.
