BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Kai Widdrington praised for 'back together' message as he swaps Angela Rippon as partner

Kai Widdrington has been praised for his 'lovely' words as he shared a 'back together' message on social media weeks after his Strictly Come Dancing partnership with Angela Rippon came to an end. The professional dancer was paired with the veteran broadcaster in the BBC One dance contest this year.

The couple wowed the judges week after week but sadly, they found themselves in the bottom two for the third week in a row and it was one too many as they lost their place in the competition after performing in the show's annual Blackpool special in the iconic Tower Ballroom.

Asked about her time on the show by presenter Tess Daly, Angela, 79, said: "I have to tell you that the last nine weeks have probably been the most terrifying, the most fantastic, the most glorious, the most joyful that I have spent for a very long time in my profession. "I have had the time of my life, people keep making reference to the fact that I presented Come Dancing, but that was 40 years ago, that was a different time!

"He (Kai) wasn’t even born then! But, actually, being this side of the competition, this side of the programme, has been really an eye-opener for me in so many different ways.
