BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne Buswell and Chris McCausland 'told' they'd win all along - but didn't realise

It appears Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell were missing a message that they were destined to win Strictly Come Dancing all along as they shared a final update days after their win.

Fans of the hit dance programme saw the comedian and the professional dancer in disbelief during the final of the BBC One dance contest on Saturday night (December 14) as they were crowned the show's 2024 champions.

They competed in the sparkling final where they beat off stiff competition from Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec, JB Gill and Lauren Oakley and Sarah Hadland and Vito Coopla to take the title for the 22nd series and lift the famous Glitterball trophy.

After Tess Daly announced them as this year's winners of Strictly's 20th-anniversary series, Chris cried and hugged his partner Dianne, with them both appearing to be in disbelief at the news.

Chris said: "It’s astonishing. It’s – you know. I don’t know what to say. I honestly thought I could go out in the first week or two and I know no-one went out in the first week but I still thought I could." The 47-year-old then shared how “anything can happen” with “support and determination” after he became the first blind contestant to win Strictly.

It was also the first time Dianne, who joined the show in 2017, has won Strictly after making it to three finals, including this years. "It’s pretty cool, she said. "Chris says that this is for me, but it’s not for me – this is for me and you, Chris. We did this together. This is for both of us, not just me, we worked together and we did it."
