BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland supported as he issues 'promise' over 'terrifying' update

Chris McCausland has been supported by fans as he made a hilarious promise after admitted to being slightly terrified by his next career move.

The Strictly Come Dancing winner is preparing to return to the stage as he picks up his stand-up tour, Yonks!, after taking a break to take part in the hit dance show.

Chris - who was Strictly's first-ever blind contestant and winner - and professional dancer Dianne Buswell were paired together for the 20th-anniversary series of the show in September and were eventually crowned champions of the hit programme's 20th-anniversary series.

They beat off tough competition from fellow finalists Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and partner Vito Coppola, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and dancer Aljaz Skorjanec and JLS singer JB Gill and partner Lauren Oakley to lift the famous Glitterball trophy, which Chris as 'astonishing'.

Weeks on from their winning moment and while Dianne prepares to reunite with her co-stars for the Strictly Come Dancing Live 2025 tour, as mentioned, Chris is preparing to hit the stage himself as he returns to his stand-up tour.

But that's not all that will be keeping Chris busy as the 47-year-old revealed his next project. It's been revealed that Chris has signed with Penguin Michael Joseph to write a memoir due for publication in autumn 2025. Chris has said of releasing his own autobiography: "I thought Strictlywas terrifying but my book has a release date and I haven’t started writing it yet. Don’t worry, I’m going to start right now. It will be really funny, I promise."

He also referenced his quote in another social media post as he reshared the post to X, formerly known as Twitter, and said: "I am writing as we speak. Promise!"

Fans were quick to respond.
