BBC Strictly Come Dancing stars support Wynne Evans after statement on 'inappropriate' remark

Wynne Evans is seemingly being supported by his Strictly Come Dancing co-stars after he was forced to make a statement on an 'inappropriate' remark made during the launch of the show's live tour.

The Welsh opera singer, who is known for the Go.Compare insurance advertisements, has been touring with the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour 2025 after competing on the BBC One dance contest with Katya Jones last year.

It was then over the weekend that the Mail on Sunday reported that Wynne was heard making the remark to a woman in a video filmed during the launch event on January 16. The PA news agency understands he was given a warning over the remark by tour producers.

In a statement, Wynne said: "My language was inappropriate and unacceptable for which I sincerely apologise." A spokesman for the Strictly live tour and BBC Studios: "We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints. We have made it very clear to Wynne that we do not tolerate such behaviour on the tour."

Following the reports, Wynne's co-stars seemingly showed their support. His dance partner Katya reshared a picture posted by Tasha Ghouri of herself, Wynne, Jamie Borthwick and Tasha enjoying some time out from performing by enjoying a drink at the bar. "Tour fam," Katya wrote alongside the photo with a red heart emoji.

Pro dancer Kai Widdrington also re-shared a picture of himself, Wynne, Jamie and Neil Jones taken as they were rehearsing for the string of live arena shows and posted a red heart emoji on his Instagram Story. Meanwhile, Jowita Przystal posted a video from the tour bus as they sung happy birthday to Wynne.

It also comes after Wynne missed dancing on the tour in Glasgow on Saturday (January 25) due to an ankle injury
