BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans say ‘it’s a fix’ as star saved ahead of Blackpool week

Strictly Come Dancing viewers have accused the judges of ‘fixing’ the show as Krishnan Guru-Murthy became the seventh contestant to be eliminated from the show. Krishnan and his partner Lauren Oakley faced Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington in the dance off during Sunday night’s results show.

Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke all chose to save Angela after she danced the Paso Doble for a second time. Head judge Shirley Ballas said she would have saved Krishnan and Lauren, who performed a samba, had it come down to a tie.

Delivering their verdicts, Craig said: Well Krishnan you really upped your game in that dance off, it was magnificent. Angela you nearly lost your supporting leg darling in the kick but you saved it, miraculously. But the couple that I would like to save and go through to Blackpool is Angela and Kai.

But Shirley said: Well I picked the person that I felt was more grounded on their feet without any technical errors and I would have saved Krishnan & Lauren.” Strictly fans were quick to blast the judges for their choice on social media site X, saying that it was ‘obvious’ Angela would go through to next week’s show at Blackpool Tower.
