BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2023 live results as Angela Rippon is eighth celebrity to leave after Blackpool Tower Ballroom dance-off
Strictly Come Dancing’s Blackpool special saw TV presenter and journalist Angela Rippon voted off the show to become the eighth celebrity to leave the show. She had her pro-dancer, Kai Widdrington in tears as she told him: “He has looked after me so brilliantly, he’s a wonderful dancer, a great choreographer, but he’s a terrific teacher … and he has the patience of a saint!”
The exiting pair danced against actor Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell, the later sobbing to hear the judges' verdicts after their jive.
The Blackpool special kicked off last night, Saturday, November 19, with a high-octane routine from the dancers, who performed to a medley of songs including Lizzo’s Good As Hell, and an opening jive from model and soap star Bobby Brazier and professional dancer Dianne Buswell to Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by Wham!
Meanwhile, on Saturday night, theatre and TV star Layton Williams received three 10s following his performance alongside professional dancer Nikita Kuzmin on Strictly Come Dancing.

The pair were able to choose their dance style this week and performed on a pole to Ain’t No Other Man by Christina Aguilera. And former Coronation Street star, Ellie Leach, just lost out on a clean sweep too, with three 10s from Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke and Motsi Mabuse. Craig Revel Horwood gave them a nine for a "hard" Charleston.
Broadcaster Angela Rippon was praised on the evening for an “elegant and sophisticated” dance when she made a return to the Blackpool Tower Ballroom for Strictly Come Dancing.
