BBC Gladiators viewers call for 'cringe' section of show to be 'binned'

The semi-final of the rebooted Gladiators aired on BBC One tonight and many viewers seem to have had enough of one new section of the show.

The hit TV show returned earlier this year, 30-years after it first aired on our screens in the 1990s. A new team of Gladiators pit their muscles against the show's contestants in brand new games as well as classic challenges that appeared in the original '90s version.

One new element of the rebooted Gladiators that has divided viewers is the fly-on-the-wall view of the locker room. After the events, the cameras and microphones turn to the Gladiator's locker room to witness the behind-the-scenes drama and tantrums.

Commenting on social media site X (formerly Twitter) many viewers have been commenting on the locker room section using the #Gladiators hashtag to criticise this new addition to the show. Some viewers have commented to air their displeasure at the new bit, describing the section as 'cringe' and full of 'GCSE' level acting by the Gladiators themselves.

HackingGR1, posted: "Why is Sabre doing a GCSE Drama bit in the Locker Room?" CharPast, said: "Actually HATE 'The Locker Room,' clips. Cringe and stop!!"

camy93_ said: "The GCSE drama locker room scenes need to be binned. " MissLionHeart, said: "Next series of #Gladiators - ditch the locker room scenes".

Funkygibbons, posted: "The locker room stuff is so cringey #Gladiators", while Robyaw was in agreement, saying: "No more cringey, fake 'hidden camera' locker room scenes please."
