Barry Robson hands Rangers sympathy vote to Michael Beale but insists Aberdeen FC must be 'bang on' at Ibrox

Barry Robson has every sympathy for what Michael Beale has faced this season but has warned he will get no favours from his Aberdeen team today.

The Dons boss has been in a similar movie to his Rangers counterpart as he has tried to drastically rebuild his squad while trying to compete on all fronts. Robson knows it is far from ideal circumstances as you try to gel a new team and get them competing while balancing both Europe and domestic commitments.

There has been a large quell of discontent at Ibrox this season but Robson’s only concern is trying to extent Aberdeen’s unbeaten run. Robson stated: “I think it has been really difficult for Michael Beale as he has had to build a whole new squad. I know how he feels, it is difficult. He also has a similar situation to us with the European side of it, where he has had to try and integrate on the job.

“We know how difficult that is because you have the European games, a lot of travelling and you don’t get a lot of time to work on the training pitch. It is more game, recover and game. It is never easy. They have really good players and we know they are a very good team.”

Robson is aware that with games coming thick and fast that you can’t even get the work done you need on the training pitch because it is all about games and then recovery. Aberdeen head to Ibrox fresh from booking their place in the Viaplay Cup semi-final on Wednesday. Robson knows his side will need to be at their best at Ibrox.

He admitted: “It will be a difficult game. Ibrox is always a difficult place to go. We will need to get everything point-on, the pressing triggers and everything. Things need to be bang on to get a result there. That is the stuff we have been working on over the last 24 hours. We
