Aston Villa fans make transfer demand as loanee substitute is substituted

Aston Villa supporters are concerned by how Caleb Chukwuemeka's loan spell at Livingston is going after the youngster was substituted as a substitute on Saturday.

Chukwuemeka made a fifth appearance for Livi since arriving on loan last month for the final six minutes against Aberdeen after David Martindale's side had already been reduced to ten men at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

But the second-half substitute did not see the final whistle on the pitch as Birmingham City loanee Odin Bailey replaced the 20-year-old in the 90th minute to see out the match.

This decision has prompted some supporters to call for the forward to return south of the border and others questioning why Martindale would make such a rare move.

I’m sorry but subbing a young lad off (after) six minutes of him playing is (going to) shatter his confidence.

Why are these lower league clubs doing this to our prospects??? They should be lucky to have our young talent helping them out.

That's not doing his confidence any good having played just six minutes, bring him back.

Looks like it’s similar to [Louie] Barry at Ipswich [Town], bring him home before he gets too disheartened.

Took him off in the 90th minute, is there any point?

Why go there in the first place?

I think people are overthinking this. The manager has a responsibility to the club first and likely had a tactical change of mind as Caleb was subbed for a midfielder.

And frankly learning to deal with changes in a game is one of the reasons for a young player going on loan too, it's all part of the experience.

Sure they were winning and went down to ten me so probably why he came off.
