Jacob Ramsey says it is a "privilege" to have chalked up 50 appearances for boyhood club Aston Villa.
Local lad Ramsey, 20, played 90 minutes in Villa’s dismal 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday.
Steven Gerrard was furious with Villa’s performance on Tyneside and promised changes to his starting line-up for Saturday’s meeting with Watford.
But Ramsey - who has scored five goals in the Premier League this term - isn’t likely to be one of the players Gerrard drops.
The midfielder has earned rave reviews this season and revealed his delight at hitting a half century of appearances in claret and blue.
He tweeted: “Such a privilege to have played 50 games for the Villa. I'll never take it for granted. Thank you for all the support.”
Ramsey has emerged as a contender for England’s World Cup squad later this year and Gerrard believes a Three Lions call-up is imminent for his prodigy.
“I know the level of the England players, I've been around it, and have enough experience to know it's only a matter of time but let's all be sensible and keep calm about it,” said Gerrard.
