Aston Villa fans have their say on Steven Gerrard's greatest selection dilemma

Aston Villa fans are all saying the same thing when commenting on the selection dilemma Steven Gerrard faces in regards to Douglas Luiz playing in his preferred position.

Luiz has played as the holding midfielder for the club throughout most of this season and last, however his preferred position is in a more advanced role where he can contribute defensively but also has a more flexible role that allows him to get forward.

Here is what some of the fans had to say in response to transfer insider Dean Jones stating that Luiz "doesn't want" to play as the defensive midfielder for Villa, due to it not being his preferred position.

Neither do the fans. Frustrating when we have a player in Chambers who can play there.

Don't blame him. Why would he? It's like moving a centre back to fullback and then criticising the player for being a 5/10 every week. Seems we expect more flexibility from centre midfielders these days even though the positions have become even more specialist/nuanced.
