Aston Villa are trying to complete nine transfer deals before the deadline

As well as a big-money move for Juventus ace , Aston Villa could sanction a number of loan deals on deadline day involving first-team and youth-team players.

Villa hope to wrap up a deal for Bentancur over the weekend with Juve holding out for a fee close to £25million. Earlier today, Villa had a bid of £16.5million plus £4million in bonuses rejected by the Italian giants.

Sporting director Johan Lange and CEO Christian Purslow will, however, firm up Villa's interest once again in the coming days with a new bid likely to be lodged prior to Monday's deadline.

And while it's hoped the Uruguayan star will become Villa's fifth and final signing of what has been an impressive window, there's still as many as NINE other deals that could be confirmed in the coming hours ahead of Monday's 11.59pm transfer close-off.

After Louie Barry's loan to Swindon Town was confirmed earlier, his under-23 strike partner is now expected to a seal loan deal out shortly, with Port Vale amongst others keen to take him for the remainder of the season.
