Aston Villa player Dean Smith covered the globe to scout tipped to have played final game

Egypt international Trezeguet will spend the rest of the 2021/22 season on loan at Turkish club İstanbul Başakşehir and he might have played his final game for Aston Villa.

The 27-year-old recently returned from the Africa Cup of Nations where he played a key role in his nation reaching the final of the competition, but sadly fell short to Senegal on penalties.

Trezeguet had made one appearance for Steven Gerrard prior to departing for the AFCON, however with Leon Bailey and Bertrand Traore also set to return to the first team fold, his options behind these players as well as Philippe Coutinho and Emi Buendia, look limited.

His current Villa deal expires this summer and is expected to leave the club at the end of the season.

Trezeguet has scored nine goals in 64 appearances for Villa and has played a key part in the club's success over the past few seasons, scoring Carabao Cup semi-final against Leicester City and netting important strikes in during Project Restart.

He became Villa’s ninth summer signing before the start of the 2019/20 season following the club's promotion back to the top-flight by signing from Turkish club Kasimpasa in an £8.75million deal.
